Euro Truck Simulator 2 is in MapToPlay
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is here as a Preview. Build a real place with roads, AI traffic, bridges, tunnels and railways, then drive it in the game.

Hey guys!
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is in MapToPlay! Take a real place, build its roads, bridges, tunnels and railways in the Editor, then drive it in the game with AI traffic around you. It starts as a Preview, and I explain why further down.
ETS2 is here because you voted for it on the Games page. Thank you! Those votes really do shape what I work on next, so please keep voting for the games you want to see.
Regions
A good drive needs more than one small map. That's why I built Regions: a grid of neighbouring projects over a real place, so a long route can grow one tile at a time. Each tile is its own project, and in the game they come together as one map.
I built Regions for ETS2 first. American Truck Simulator will probably come next, and there are plenty of other games where a bigger world makes sense.
Regions are a Preview too. They work, but they need more updates from me before I call them finished.
Tunnels and railway crossings
ETS2 also brings two new things to the Editor. Tunnels take a road or a railway straight through a hill, from one portal to the other, and you choose their size and wall texture.
Railway crossings appear by themselves wherever a road meets a railway at the same level. MapToPlay levels the road to the rails and adds the warning signs.
Both are ETS2 only for now. Other games will get them later.
What you can build today
The export brings terrain, ground textures, water and forests. Roads from Road Constructor keep their lanes, markings and junctions, and the game's AI cars, vans, buses and trucks drive on them. Bridges, tunnels and railways come along too, with overhead lines for electrified tracks, and the game's own trains can run on your rails. Buildings, road signs, street lights, guardrails, power lines, fences, rocks and your own models fill in the rest.
Every export fills one square of the game world, 4 by 4 kilometres. You choose how much of the real place goes into it: 4 kilometres for a true 1:1 map, or anything from 2 to 8 kilometres, scaled to fit.
You install the map as a mod and start the game straight into it. It's a map of its own, not an addition to the game's Europe.
Not there yet
Gameplay places aren't in yet: no gas stations, shops or other stops along the way. I'll probably add them together with American Truck Simulator.
There's no Autogeneration for ETS2 either, and it isn't coming soon. ETS2 is all about the roads, and roads built blindly from map data wouldn't give good results. I'd rather not turn a truck simulator into an off road one.
Why it's a Preview
ETS2 took a lot more work than I expected. Its terrain isn't one big heightmap but thousands of separate pieces that have to fit together, and the game has tight limits on how much can be in view at once.
Every real place also brings its own edge cases: a steep valley here, a tricky junction there. I'm sure you'll find some I haven't met yet. If something looks wrong in the game, please tell me on the Support page with your project and a screenshot. Every report helps, and I keep working on it.
Cheers!
