New Interface and AI Map Previews
A calmer MapToPlay web interface, a sidebar you can arrange yourself, and AI generated images for your project map previews.
Hey guys!
I have spent the past few days working on the MapToPlay web app. The Editor had its own update earlier; this time it is the pages around it. For months I kept adding useful things to an interface that tried to show everything at once. Eventually even I had to pause and remember where I put things.
Many pages now have a calmer layout. You can use the switch in the top bar to compare it with the old layout on pages that still offer both. I plan to retire the old layout once the remaining pages are ready, so please tell me what feels better and what still gets in your way. After you spend a little time on an updated page, you may see a short feedback prompt.
The side menu is yours to arrange, too. Reorder pages, put them into groups, hide what you do not use, and pin the pages you open all the time.
There is also a new way to make project previews. A raw map or satellite image can be useful without looking much like a game cover. Open Generate map preview, choose an art style or describe your own, and the AI Assistant will create an image from the current map view. It is an artistic preview, so check the result before you share it as a picture of your map.
AI previews are available on Plus, Pro, and Ultra and use Assistant messages. When you first try it, MapToPlay asks before sending the map preview and your style instructions to OpenAI.
I hope the new pages make it easier to find what you came for. Let me know what still needs work.
Cheers!
